Best of All

‘Let me show you a way of life that is best of all.’ 1 Corinthians 12:31

‘Love never fails…’ 1 Corinthians 13:7

LOVE is the hallmark of Christianity. The truest character trait of God. The highest ideal of humanity.

‘The Love Chapter,’ is 1 Corinthians 13. Its place in the Bible is ironic because Corinth was known more for lust than love. Ironic, too, because the people in Corinth were the ones most likely to get it wrong.

But maybe that’s the point. I have to be reminded of what love is at the very time I am getting it most wrong.

I don’t want to be presumptuous about your Thanksgiving, but sometimes expectations unfulfilled can lead to despair.

Maybe you were with people you really love—at least you wanted to. People who don’t seem capable of loving you back—at least not the way you’d hoped they could. Maybe you felt profoundly lonely—whether there were people around, or not.

Let’s allow the Apostle Paul to remind us what love is supposed to look like. Invite God to love you as only God can. That can change everything.

I LOVE Being Your Pastor!
